Super or Turbo 1.6L ?

Yo fellas, I know this is'nt really the forum for this but, my boy has a 98 civic ex. He's not sure which way to go. Me, I'm a JRSC fan. Can you throw out some of that expert advice on which way should he go. He has a clean carisma kit sitting on 17" Volk AV3's. He wants a quick street rizzie, not some trailer queen good only on the weekends. Engine swap is'nt an option. Holla back. Peace out!!!

will just the jrsc is goin to get him low 15's, it really depends on how far he wants to go, if he wants mild street power thn go with the jrsc, if he wants alot of power and maybe a little more maintance go with the turbo

Well, I would recommend a swap, the b16 swap can be had for 3000, only a little more than the charger, but warranty and parents are probably an issue on a new car(for me it wasnt), but a turbo or a s'charger void the warranty anyway!!! If I were him, I would get the charger, it seems he doesnt want a 13 second road rocket.....The charger will get him mid 15's, I think low 15's will take some tuning and an exhaust, intake, and a lot of practice at the strip. Most people who run the greddy 6 psi turbo kit get 15.5' and 15.6's....The ex 1.6 isnt a great base to go on, but if it is all you have, then well, it is what you have to go with! Turbo's take tuning and so forth. The good thing about turbos is you can up the boost whenever you want, and don't have to run a certain amount all the time. But if your friend doesnt want the hastle of having to worry about a blown head gasket, then the S'Charger is the way to go...Some of the turbo guys might argue with me, but, the supercharger is the way to go if he wants some good streetable power. If he wants more to go on, later, and is willing to spend some good money in the future, then he should get a turbo!
